21st Century 'Olde Worlde' charm
The Whalebone's history stretches back for centuries, with the earliest records around 1735. Victoria Burroughs took over The Whalebone in 2004 after 11 years managing restaurants and bars in London.
The building has stood the test of time well and Victoria and the previous owners have managed to restore and refurbish it so that it combines the best of both worlds - with historic buildings housing a contemporary venue offering superb food and wine.
It's clear that Victoria loves what she does and takes pride in having a pub-restaurant that stands out from the crowd. She has invested a lot of time getting the details right and the result is a faithful clientele from near and far who visit to enjoy the food and the views.
If you have a canine friend, you'll find they're welcome at The Whalebone too. You'll find them listed in the pet guides and well-behaved dogs are very welcome.
Whether you're looking for a place for an informal supper or you've got a special event coming up, you'll find that The Whalebone is just perfect.
